Franklin Mint 1969 Corvette 427 Coupe L/E Of 750
Now heres another one that I didn't buy directly from the dealer, for it sold out before I knew it was available, so I bought it online MIB. It is a Franklin Mint but redone by Michelle at Mint Models, a limited edition of only 750. Again, just like the L/E FM triple black 'Cuda, there are no abundent details on this one, but I think its done perfect for what it is, a triple black, (yes, its triple black due to the black removable t-tops, black paint and black interior) bigblock L/E Stingray. The chrome is placed well, and they did a nice job wiring the motor. I rate this outstanding collectable model a 5 out of 5 stars. "If you have the means, I highly recommend it, its so choice"- Ferriss Buellers Day Off, circa 1986.
GMP 1970 GTO Triple Black L/E Of 350
This is a model I am glad I purchased. period. I love triple black cars and this one filled a void in the cabinet nicely. I didn't know how nice these GMP 1/24 cars were until I bought this one, and it is perfect. The convertable top fits snug but doesn't give a fight when you put it back on. The details are present and perfect, but you might need a magnifying glass for this one for you might strain your eyes trying to read the "PMD" center caps they popped on those 5 star Pontiac wheels which are really nicely presented. The Firestone wide oval white letter tires are real nice and theres even a spare in the trunk. The chrome foil, paint and photo-etching is perfect. GMP even put the rpm tach on the hood which is correct for this car. Interior is real good with chrome trim on the door panels, seatbacks, and dash. Speaking of the dash, it is nicely done with woodgrain and readable guages (do you still have that magnifying glass?) and radio. The motor is top of the line in details, fully wired and all the fixin's, Pontiac blue painted block with chrome valve covers. Underneath is full of details also, your getting alot of bang for your buck here, this one goes for about $125., but you can probably get it cheaper on EBAY. This is a limited edition of 350, and I got #350, yup, the last one stamped and no its not for sale. I rate this a 5 out of 5 stars all the way around.
Franklin Mint 1971 Hemi Roadrunner L/E Of 500
This is my favorite Roadrunner body style, and in 1971, the last year you could get the Hemi in any mopar, (rumors are afloat that some 1972's got out the door with the 426) it had to have been an instant classic. I bought this one while they were still available and I am glad I did. Even though they only produced 500 of these, (in this color) you can still find these at a reasonable price, but if you don't have one yet, get it now 'cause when they are gone the price goes up. The details are about the same as applied to the '69 Stingray and '70 Cuda, for the price you would expect more, but then really looking over this car, and knowing it will bump up in value because of its stature, its a no brainer. I rate this beast a 5 out of 5.
Danbury Mint 1969 Dodge Charger 500 L/E Of 5000
My, My, My..., My Danbury Mint Charger 500 Limited Edition of 5000. This one made a dent in the diecast world. I bought mine on Ebay, mint in box, for this one sold out fast. The details are nice with the raised script, correct flush rear glass, (found only on the 500's, Daytona's and Superbirds, for nascar racing) flush front grill, (also for racing) dogdish hubcaps with paint matching wheels. The chrome foil around the glass and wheel wells are perfect, paint is deep and lustrous. The motor details are beautiful, With HEMI HEAD decals on the air cleaner, fully plumbed and wired. This is one of my favorite cars and it happens to be a highly sought after diecast peice, get this one and it is sure to be a good investment. I rate this L/E a full 5 out of 5 stars.
Franklin Mint 1970 Hemicuda Triple Black L/E Of 500
This Franklin Mint diecast car is one of the most sought after pieces on the planet, and it's not hard to see why. Lets start with the fact that it is a Franklin Mint Limited Edition of 500, and lets just say there are 5 hundred thousand serious collectors in the world, that's one car per 1 thousand collectors. I am glad I have mine. Triple black is another reason for its high collectable status, and last but certainly not least its an E body Mopar with a Hemi. This car isn't detailed to the hilt, although it does have a nice stock factory look, there are diecast cars out there with double the details delight at half the price, for this black beauty is well over $200 dollars now (if you can find one for sale). To sum it up its a nice plain jane gotta have. I rate this a 5 out of 5 for collectability.
Danbury Mint 1971 Mach 1 Mustang 429 Cobra Jet L/E Of 5000
Danbury Mint did an exceptional job on this car and I am thrilled they did. Ya see, seeing I am 40 years old, I remember this body style as a kid and remember it well. For whatever reason, there were more of these Mustangs on the road (at my max memory peak) than any other Mustang body style, which makes it my favorite. Alot of people like the "Eleanor" body and thats o.k., but I like this one better. You like details? This model is "full of it", the two tone paint that is real nice and real thick, the usual chrome foiling which is now standard on all Danburies, also standard is the photo-etching in the form of door lock cylinders, door handles, door panels and radiator grill with the smallest "mustang" script you will ever see. Woodgrain steering wheel and door panel inserts look like real wood. Hurst shifter is readable with a magnifying glass. The bigblock Cobrajet motor is magnificant with decals, wires and coolant plumbing. This is a must have, and at $140, how can you say no? I rate this well put together piece a 5 out of 5.
